My friend presently extolled the beauty of women in today’s Newsfeed in Facebook: Its so heart warming to see women deal with life's issues so boldly and overcome pain and difficulties with courage. Bold, energetic, fighting and extremely loving, these women stand out for their individuality. Sunday, June 7, 2009 A Moment’s fortune I was standing near the platform when I happened to look up. Something made me look around, though I knew not what. The day was sultry and I had no energy to keep myself perpendicular.Occasional comments on the government’s careless policies added to my impatience.  I gazed at the watch. My brother had given it to me on my birthday. ‘Had’….. the word cut an incision.  I was asleep till 8 that day, quite unusual for an early riser like me. A knock on the door had woke me up. As I rubbed my eyes, I saw my brother holding a gift. I stood wondering when he hugged me with a ‘Happy Birthday’. I had already forgotten that the day was wearing a pleasant smile on its face only for me. He opened the wrapper and presently hold a box. A watch. A crystal watch with a pinkish tinge. Quartz!! They were pearls round Mother Nature's neck.  The sky was gloomy as was my mood. It had been raining. I went outside not for the fun of it but just to give me a boost. At such times, you cannot but help being but yourself, because it's Mother Nature conspiring to take you by the collar. I am susceptible to cold and cough. But my spirit got the better of me and I decided to take myself out without an umbrella. I was being completely with myself. No phone calls, occasional smiles, the pitter- patter of the rain and then as I rested my heavy self on a slab, I looked up to see the beauty Mother Nature thankfully presented. A plant with drops of rain on the edge of its leaves. Nothing new to nature lovers. No, not even me. But there it was revealing itself to me-- my beauty. I was there just in time to get the glimpse.
