On Womanhood

My friend presently extolled the beauty of women in today’s Newsfeed in Facebook:

Its so heart warming to see women deal with life's issues so boldly and overcome pain and difficulties with courage. Bold, energetic, fighting and extremely loving, these women stand out for their individuality. Their identity and happiness doesnt depend on career, money, physical appearance or the men(husband/son/father) in their lives.. but only on their high spirit to live and to love. Salute to them. God Bless!

Ever since time has brought life into its manifold beauty, women have been held in high esteem. Be it Mother Mary or Goddess Durga, Rani LaxmiBai or Joan of Arc, women have since time immemorial, served as the right instruments of God's work.

It used to be a matriarchial society when men decided to change history and manipulate scriptures to bring things under their fold.

The controversial Godman Sathya SaiBaba glorified women in their being parents and their role as the most important and significant one in the healthy development of the society.

When analising the virtues of women
http://robertpriddy.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/sai-babas-ladies-day-vs-womens-day-and-true-female-emancipation/, He says that women have been gifted with eight powers while men with two.

It is inevitable that much is expected from them. They are therefore provided with the necessary energy to execute their tasks in a manner that sustain them and the family at large. Being exponents of patriotism culture and all that upholds value, women have suffered  as Sita, Gargi, Maitreyee, PannaBai,Savitri and others.

No doubt man has not been able to digest the fact that despite all their efforts to subjugate women and exposing them to utter misery, women have survived all kinds  of weather changes http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0225/p07s02-woiq.html and have stood  firm in the midst of untruth to validate truth.

Their take on all kinds of corruption, manipulation and wrong—doing has been exemplary http://sathyasaibaba.wordpress.com/2009/07/04/prasnottara-vahini-brahmavidya-and-women/ and this seems to have been running in their blood for ages.
Nothing can stop a woman from being a doting wife, a loving mother, an aspiring career woman or a willing prostitute.
Women have been named as 'Janani' in India. It is the best posiible name given by the Indians. When Jennifer Anniston says

'The greater your capacity to love, the greater is your capacity to feel the pain',

she means it for all the women. The word ‘mother’ has the letters [m] and [a] almost in all the languages ( Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Irish) the mother of all  languages being Sanskrit.
Mother Earth is characterised as a symbol of bounty and fertility. The colour green epitomises the nature of Mother Nature.

According to Islam, being a human, woman is even superior to angels and all other living organisms.

Over the years, as the status of women degenerated, they have been characterised as submissive, willing to serve and modest. With the dawn of the movies and talkies slowly emerged the femina and stalwarts like Greta Garbo, Sophia Lorren and others who shared the same platform as that of  Girija Devi or Queen Elizbeth and men (of course) of standard repute. With literature extolling women as patrons of learning art and craft and management of all emotions, today we have women in books, magazines, journals, media. Be it single mothers or devoted housewives, Chairpersons or Cadets, women have proved their mettle.

you know that the age old adage that ‘Behind the success of every man is a woman’ stands its stance; true to the core.

I am happy that my friend gave me time and stuff to spend a quality time this afternoon.
